Lourdes establishes new scholarship

Lourdes University has established the Irene Toth Kinsey Endowed Scholarship benefiting single mothers. The $50,000 endowed scholarship allows Lourdes to award scholarships to qualifying students who are single mothers that demonstrate a financial need. The scholarship is named in honor and in memory of Irene Toth Kinsey, the mother of Edward Phillip Kinsey II and Michele Kinsey Gross.

Edward Phillip Kinsey II, B.B.A., C.P.A., is CEO of Determination Ventures, LLC and Co-Founder and former Executive Vice President of Ariba, Inc. Mr. Kinsey is deeply invested in the educational opportunities available to future generations. He has funded other scholarships to assist students who face difficult life challenges so that they have an opportunity to attend college and earn degrees. Mr. Kinsey serves as Chairperson of the Kinsey Family Foundation, a non-profit foundation focused on providing assistance to children whose lives have been affected by unfortunate circumstances.

Ms. Gross is a coordinator at ProMedica’s Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. She began her career as a nurse at St. Charles Hospital. With her husband Dan, she also co-owned the third-generation business Gross Automotive in east Toledo for several years and served as the company’s general manager. For more information about this and other endowed scholarships, contact Mary Arquette, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, at 419/824-3969 or Marquette@lourdes.edu .
