In keeping with Dr. William James’ vision for comprehensive pain management, the offices for Comprehensive Centers for Pain Management (CC4PM) have been relocated to 3400 Meijer Dr. Joe Francis of Signature Associates negotiated the acquisition of the 9,000-plus-square-foot facility on behalf of the practice, which was moved in October.
“That vision of Dr. James includes enhanced modalities along with traditional protocol to provide our patients with opportunities to learn about their bodies and take responsibility for managing their pain. This includes the creation of Flo, an enhanced therapy and wellness center,” offered Senior Vice President of Nursing Marie Masztak, R.N., B.Ed. “Flo is an extension of the CC4PM approach to optimizing the quality of life for patients along with an innovative approach to reducing pain,” she said.
“In addition to our four full-time physicians, a physician’s assistant and two nurse practitioners, we now have a dietitian who offers nutritional support, three massage therapists and physical therapist, Shawn Chesser, who are available for patients. Dr. Mickey Frame provides acupuncture services, while Glenn Swimmer, Ph.D., and his team from StressCare Behavioral Health Inc., are available to assist with the psychological aspects of chronic pain management,” Mrs. Masztak said.
In addition, fitness experts Kelly Childress-Keefer, Debra Reis and Donna J. Ryan are presenting daily and weekly classes, which include Nia, a fitness program blending dance, martial arts and healing arts, Ageless Grace, a fitness program done in a chair, gentle yoga, stretches for relaxation, meditation and rejuvenation, light strength, for health, balance, strength and flexibility using balls, bands and weights; as well as Pilates, core strengthening and breathing techniques in the new center.
“While CC4PM’s services are pain specific, we do encourage patients to bring family members or friends with them for the various classes, which are also available to the public,” Jeri Shick, marketing coordinator, pointed out. “We also have an inventory of nutritional support and aromatherapy products along with a library of pain management books including Robin McKenzie’s ‘7 Steps to a Pain-Free Life,’ which is used by our physical therapist, and are available for sale.”
The new office has 14 examination rooms, two acupuncture rooms, two massage therapy rooms, a testing center, pain psychology suite, physicians’ offices, dietitian office and a nurse practitioner office. The four physicians, Dr. William James, Dr. Nadeem Moghal, Dr. James Weiss and Dr. James Otting, Jr., maintain office hours at the new location and staff the new Bayside office in Oregon and the Aspen Grove office in Lambertville, Mich. The West Central Surgical Center remains at 7055 W. Central Ave. and is devoted to interventional and advanced surgical procedures for CC4PM patients.
