Who will be crowned this year’s winner? Sylvania AdVantage and GenoaBank are now accepting nominations from the community for the Most Outstanding Sylvania-area Small Business Award. The campaign, now in its sixth year, recognizes exceptional local businesses and the contributions they make to the community.
From now though Feb. 28, members of the community may nominate their favorite Sylvania-area small business by visiting yourgood.news or genoabank.com and telling us why their favorite business should win.
Once nominations are closed, the nominees will be narrowed to three finalists, and their business profiles will be featured in the March 16 issue of Sylvania AdVantage. The community will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite.
“2020 was really tough on small businesses,” said Jennifer Ruple of Sylvania AdVantage. “So many of our local businesses rearranged their business models so they could continue to serve the community.
“Let’s show them our support by nominating them and recognizing them for their efforts,” she added.
The 2021 award winner will receive a three-month advertising package with Sylvania AdVantage and a Visa gift card from GenoaBank, a $2,000 total prize value.
Past winners of the campaign include J & G Pizza Palace/UpSide Brewing (2020), Arrow Print and Copy (2019), Sautter’s Food Center (2018), Charlie’s Homemade Pizza and Italian Cuisine (2017), and Hafner Florist (2016).
“Small businesses have been struggling to keep their doors open and serve their local communities,” said Marty Sutter, president/CEO of GenoaBank. “Despite what has felt at times like chaos and confusion this past year–what stands out for me is the grit, determination and commitment demonstrated by our small businesses. I encourage you to nominate a business for this year’s award. Sylvania is at its best when we all work together.”
