
Peggy L. Grier, age 91, of Sylvania Township, Ohio passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2021. She was born April 6, 1930 in New Holland, Ohio to Dr. and Mrs. Leslie M. Tarbill. She was a member of the New Holland Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was assistant secretary for Sunday school classes. She graduated as valedictorian of New Holland High School in 1948.
Peggy attended The Ohio State University earning a degree in dental hygiene and a B.S. in education, in 1952. She was an education honorary of Pi Lamda Theta, and a member of the Junior Dental Hygienists Association. Also, she was a member of the Ohio Eastern Star-Purity Chapter.
On July 27, 1952 Peggy married Roger A. Grier, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Grier of Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked as a dental hygienist and taught dental students before moving to Toledo, Ohio in 1959. Mrs. Grier became a member of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church where she cared for toddlers while their parents attended church services. Peggy helped her husband as a receptionist and veterinary assistant at the Grier Animal Hospital until retirement.
Mrs. Grier enjoyed traveling with her husband, Roger, in Europe, Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Amish country in Holmes County, Ohio. She also liked reading, watching horse races, and spending time with friends, family, and pets. Peggy loved her friendly Boston Terrier, Jason, and beautiful cat, Muffin.
Mrs. Grier was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Roger Grier, and brother Dr. Dean (Shirley) Tarbill. She is survived by her daughter Natalie (David) Williams and her son Greg Grier. Peggy was laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park with her family present at a private ceremony.
