Alex Kasee, the kicker for Northview’s football team, is making his mark at school and looking to his future. He has a five-star kicking rating from Kohl’s Kicking, is ranked #36 among kickers nationally, and more. With that and his confidence from practices, he has high hopes for the future. NV Band starts season strong

The Northview marching band held band camp to practice for football season two weeks before school. Their practices lasted for hours to review what to know for marching band, as well as teaching new music. Since then, the marching band has continued practicing, and performs at Northview Football’s games to support the team.

During the band camp, “[the students] learn their marching fundamentals, and most of the music that they will play the whole season—the show tunes and the stand tunes,” Band Director Nathan Heath said. “It’s a big head start.” Continue reading NV Band starts season strong

Southview alumna benefits from motorsports internship

Kenna Edwards, a Sylvania Southview High School alumna, recently completed the Women in Motorsports internship at Chip Ganassi Racing, powered by PNC Bank. The program, which seeks to spark dialogue about the importance of equality and inclusion for women in motorsports, gave Edwards valuable hands-on training and inspiration for what’s next in her career. Northview alumnus reaches NFL

Luke Fortner was recently drafted to play center for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fortner, a Sylvania Northview alumni, graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in mechanical engineering. In addition to having numerous awards as a result of his football and academic performances, Fortner has gained a valuable perspective because of his experiences throughout the progression of his career. Athletic facilities benefit community

Sylvania Northview High School has a number of athletic facilities that it uses for sports programs and classes. These include the Northview pool and the various sports fields.

In addition to sports and classes, the pool is used by the public through “open swims.” Groups and organizations also use the pool. “We have lots of community groups that come in and use our pool, so it is very well used,” said Northview Pool Manager Holly Williams. NV baseball coach is no stranger

The Northview Wildcats baseball team, led by head coach Greg Szparka, won the state championship for the first time in school history.
