Tam-O-Shanter Sports assumes managerial role of 53-year-old Ottawa Park Ice Rink

At the opening of the Ottawa Park Outdoor Ice Rink this season, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz announced the city’s affiliation with Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter, which is now providing management and programming services for the 53-year-old recreation facility. Hall of Fame established for Lourdes athletes, coaches, administrators

Lourdes University has announced the formation of a Athletics Hall of Fame, which will begin with the induction of its inaugural class on Nov. 3, 2023. Clark Kellogg will be the featured speaker at the ceremony.

The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize former Lourdes University athletes, faculty and staff, and others associated with the university who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics, either by their performance on athletic teams or by outstanding contributions to athletics, and who have distinguished themselves since leaving Lourdes University. BCSN, NLL to form new network

BCSN and the Northern Lakes League (NLL) are teaming up to launch the NLL Network Powered by BCSN. It will be a first of a kind channel for a league at the high school level.

The network will hit airwaves next year on Aug. 1, 2023, in time for the start of the 2023-2024 school year. This launch will also coincide with the NLL’s expansion to include four more schools – Clay, Findlay, Fremont Ross, and Whitmer – for Fall 2023. Continue reading BCSN, NLL to form new network

Northview baseball program has new head coach

After being assistant baseball coach at Northview with head coach Greg Szparka, Aaron Tullis recently became the head coach following Szparka’s retirement after winning the state title last season. Tullis has coached at Northview for 16 years prior to his promotion to head coach and he worked with Szparka throughout the whole process. Now, there are high expectations for Tullis’ direction. Addict turned athlete: Racing for Recovery founder to complete 100th Ironman

Oct. 8 will be more than just another fall Sunday. This is the date that Sylvania resident, Northview graduate, and Racing for Recovery founder Todd Crandell participates in his 100th Ironman competition in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, the birthplace of the endurance event. According to Crandell, he will have swam, biked, and run nearly 10,000 miles just in Ironman competitions, not counting miles during training for each event.
