The Erie Shores Council of Scouting America will host its annual Scouting Youth Honors Banquet to recognize those who earned the Eagle Scout and Venturing Summit Award on Saturday, March 14.
Scouts, leaders, and volunteers from throughout the Council will gather at The Pinnacle in Maumee at 3:30 pm for fellowship, followed by the awards program and dinner. The event will also honor those who received special recognitions in 2025, including the National Certificate of Merit and Venturing Leadership Award. High achievement requires passion and dedication. In Scouting, the highest achievements are the Eagle Scout and Venturing Summit Awards. To earn these awards, eligible scouts must follow a rigorous program of learning, leadership, service, and participation requirements that can take several years to complete.
The class honoree and keynote speaker will be retired Col. William Giezie, a 1983 Eagle Scout from the Erie Shores Council, whose lifelong commitment to Scouting includes numerous leadership roles in the Eagle Bay District and Council. He most recently served on the Executive Board as Vice President of Strategic Planning.
The banquet is free to invited youth honorees, and all others may purchase tickets for $30. Registration and ticket purchases can be completed online at erieshorescouncil.org/SYHB.
