
While the Fairways Restaurant, 8256 Central Ave., has a fresh new look inside, the same food favorites and excellent customer service will continue, according to longtime customer and now owner, Jeff Kaminsky.
Since taking over the business in early July, Kaminsky has had the interior repainted, carpeting removed and a new floor installed. New chairs have been added and both bathrooms have been redone.
“Even though I worked in another restaurant, this is where my wife and I came regularly for cocktails, dinner and to catch up with friends. We could not find another restaurant that offers better food, amazing service, and a friendly atmosphere. The saying here is, ‘Where acquaintances become friends.’ And that has certainly been true, for Kathy and me,” he affirmed. “Another regular customer has called this restaurant ‘Sylvania’s best kept secret!’ a sentiment that Kathy and I also share.”
“Most of the staff have worked here for years,” he related. “And, the same great food, with some additions will be prepared by the same cook who has been here for the past 14 years. His food will be served by the same friendly, helpful staff.”
Those menu items include daily lunch specials for $7.99; dinner specials; ribeye and chopped sirloin from the grill; chicken; seafood; ribs; pasta dishes and homemade soups. “Our ‘On the Greens’ menu features a variety of salads; ‘Li’l Tees’ is the children’s menu; and an extensive list of ‘Sand Wedges’ includes our famous, signature Reuben, buffalo burger, patty melt, perch, chicken salad, tuna salad, and more,” Kaminsky stated.
Happy Hour is offered from 2 to 6 pm Monday through Friday.
“Most of all, we want people to enjoy coming in here,” he said.
As renovations are completed, Kaminsky has added lunch specials that patrons can eat in or carry out. He also has increased the dessert menu and will add items customers request.
Kaminsky is planning to bring the 13 current staff members to a total of 16 to better accommodate the 125-seat facility.
Hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 am to 10 pm; Friday, 11 am to 11 pm; Saturday, 4 to 11 pm. The kitchen is open to 9:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 10 pm Friday and Saturday.
