Computer 101 – Let’s save money on Amazon

Janis Weber

There are a few things you can do to save money on Amazon orders. Now that the annual membership has been raised to $139, you many want to know some hints. First of all you can share your membership with someone else and still use individual log-in information. Click on your name within your accounts. Scroll down until you see “Share Your Prime Benefits.” Click that, and then click the word “here” at the end of the paragraph (it’s highlighted in blue). Scroll down to the “Households and Family Library” section, and click Add an Adult. Free or paid Amazon Prime members can share their shipping benefits with up to four additional family members. Let each additional member pay a portion of your membership fee. Remember each member has access to Amazon Prime Streaming as well.

Amazon is one of the most popular online shopping websites where you can find pretty much any kind of item or product you could possibly want. You may already be one of millions of people who have shopped using How cool would it be to get items from Amazon sent to you, completely free of charge? Sounds great, right? If you become an Amazon reviewer, this could be a reality for you!

The Amazon Vine program is a program which asks the best Amazon reviewers to test out products and review them. Amazon customers who have written product reviews that have been rated well by other customers can be invited to the program. Members of the program receive free items for review purposes. Amazon selects people to join the Amazon Vine program, and you can only become an Amazon Vine reviewer if you are invited by Amazon to join. If other Amazon customers frequently rate your reviews as helpful, you are more likely to be invited.

It’s not always the case that Amazon actually has the best deal on a particular item. There are tens of thousands of online retailers of all shapes and sizes, and that’s to say nothing of the thousands of private sellers operating on sites like eBay. There is a tool that can actually check if the price on Amazon is the best one. That tool is called Capital One Shopping, a free Microsoft Edge extension. While you shop on Amazon, Capital One Shopping instantly finds you the best price. Look, we love Amazon Prime. Free 2-day shipping is great and, like everyone else, we enjoyed not knowing how much it actually cost. Well, guess what? It isn’t free to move atoms from one location to another, and that cost is buried into the price you pay. Go to or to the Microsoft Store to download and have this extension added to your browser. Don’t just buy from Amazon because it’s easy. Get Capital One Shopping today and stop paying more than you have to for the exact same stuff.

The CLOUD refers to servers that are accessed over the internet, and the software and databases that run on those servers. Cloud servers are located in data centers all over the world.
