The daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, and wife of actor Chris Pratt, her book tells the story of two sisters setting out to sleep in their own rooms for the very first time. The story starts with big sister Kat, who is excited to sleep in her own room—the big girl room—for the very first time. But her younger sister, Tina, is nervous to sleep in their old room without her. So Kat comes up with a plan: she’ll give all her stuffed animals to her younger sister, and every time Tina gets scared, she should hold them close and be reminded of all the wonderful things each animal represents: bravery, creativity, love, and imagination. The story follows the sisters’ first nights in their new rooms and the comfort and strength they bring to each other along the way.
“As a mom of sisters and someone who knows the power of a sister bond firsthand, it is a thrill for me to be putting out my new children’s book, “Good Night, Sister,” said Schwarzenegger Pratt. “I based this story on my relationship with my sister, Christina. Although I am the older one, throughout our childhood, I leaned on her in so many scenarios where I needed extra support. This story is a reminder that, no matter your birth order, a cuddle from your sibling, or best friend, can ease your mind and give you strength in the moments you never thought you could get through. I hope parents find this book a go-to in their bedtime routine and get as much joy out of reading it as I had creating it.”ΩFirst Friday Art Walk – Friday, March 3, 5-8 pm – Celebrating Women – With over 30 women-owned businesses in downtown, the Art Walk will be dedicated to the creative, strong-willed trailblazers in the community.
