Sylvania native and Northview graduate Rob Dodd is the store director. He helped launch the business, which opened last February in the former Bassett Health Food Store location.
Originally an environmental engineer, Dodd spent the first part of his career in the oil refinery business. However, for the past 11 years, he has been learning about health and wellness. He worked for Bassett’s from 2014 until the company closed. Dodd had no desire to return to the refinery industry, so he continued his path of health and wellness through Naturopathic studies. “I am passionate about this subject and take pride in knowing about all the food, the many products and brands we carry in the store,” he reported. “I know that the body is shocked by eating bad things, and I love to help people as they work toward achieving good health.”
Tedd Handelsman, Better Health Market founder and company president, opened the first market in 1998 in Walled Lake, Mich. The company has grown to include 13 stores throughout the state of Michigan. The Secor Road store is the first Ohio location.
