Scouts To Host 34th Annual Construction City

Hundreds of local Scouts will get valuable hands-on experience in STEM-related principles, including engineering, science, design planning, and construction at the 34th annual Construction City event, hosted by the Erie Shores Council of Scouting America.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 15 at Penta Career Center, located at 9301 Buck Road in Perrysburg.
Scouts will participate in one of two divisions, City Building or Bridge Building, both of which involve a “permitting” process before building can begin. Scouts may only use the provided materials of cardboard, tape, and tools to complete their builds.
City Building requires Scouts to build structures on an 8’x8’ plot. Bridge Building requires Scouts to build a bridge spanning 12’ that can hold scale weights, while controlling the structure weight. This is a fun, challenging event that requires safety, learning, teamwork, and planning.
