The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (LSWCD) is accepting orders for its annual Tree, Shrub, and Garden Sale now through Friday, April 3. There are two ways to place an order: visit lswcd-tree.square.site (credit card only) or stop by the office, 3350 Hill Ave., Suite K, Toledo, during business hours to fill out an order form and make payment.
This year’s sale offers several hardwood species in three-gallon pots including American Basswood (Linden), Allegheny Serviceberry, and Eastern Redbud. Also offered are bareroot seedling packs of evergreens, like Arborvitae and Norway Spruce, and flowering shrubs like Spicebush, Sandbar Willow, and New Jersey Tea. This year’s sale also features several fruit-bearing species including Pawpaw, Apple and Pear trees, and Elderberry bushes.
Those interested in getting more than one species in a pack, can order an Edible Landscape Packet or the Native Prairie Seed Packets which contain seeds from flowers and grasses collected locally from the Oak Openings Region.
Each year, the Lucas SWCD offers a unique selection of native and habitat trees, shrubs, and plants to promote conservation in the landscape. These plants are offered at a low cost to encourage residents to help wildlife, provide soil and water benefits, and improve their properties. Whether it is replacing turf grass with native plants or planting a 100-foot long windbreak on a farm, the Lucas SWCD offers trees and planting/maintenance information to area residents to help them be successful.
All orders must be picked up at the Lucas County Fairgrounds on either April 20 between 1-6 pm or April 21 between 8 am and 1 pm. Delivery is not an option. Quantities are limited. For more information or to request a copy of the spring 2026 newsletter, call the office at 419-893-1966.
