Val Krueger has always loved flowers and nature. In fact, the soon-to-be entrepreneur has a degree in environmental studies. She recently happened upon a 1962 Ford Econoline pickup truck E100 for sale that had been converted into a flower truck. Her wheels began to spin and an idea began to bloom of its potential possibilities.
After discussing her ideas with Dave Krueger, her spouse of 30 years, the two took action. The flower truck found its new home from its origins in Holland, Mich. to their residence in Sylvania Township. The arrival of the couple’s new purchase will give Val ample opportunity to prepare for the upcoming market season.
Val Krueger Val’s Vintage Flower Truck is ready to hit the road.
The Vintage Flower Truck will provide guests the opportunity to purchase a variety of single or multiple flower stems from galvanized bins to create a one-of-a-kind bouquet. If guests so choose, they can have their floral selections wrapped in new or vintage towels or aprons and secured with a decorative pin.
Krueger plans on participating in local outdoor markets and special events in northwest Ohio and in southeast Michigan. “In its past life, our flower truck has been popular with photographers who used it as a backdrop at weddings and other photoshoots,” said Val.
The budding business woman has been busy collecting vintage and new aprons, kitchen towels and pins for her new enterprise. She feels strongly about supporting local and plans on purchasing flowers for her truck from local growers. “I plan to be budget friendly so that everyone of any budget can enjoy their own unique floral creation,” she stated. “I don’t claim to be a floral designer, although it has been a fun hobby of mine for years that I have shared with friends and family. I am excited for people to have the opportunity to express and discover their own creativity. I will however, provide guidance and a ‘recipe’ for an eye-pleasing arrangement.”
You will be able to see Val’s Vintage Flower Truck driving around northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan in early 2021. “I look forward to spending time doing what I love and sharing my love of flowers with others,” she said.
