Ridin’ Late returns to downtown Sylvania

Ridin’ Late bicyclists at the 2021 event

Yark Nissan presents the sixth annual Ridin’ Late in County 48, an eight-mile, family-friendly slow bicycle ride under the northwest Ohio night sky. The event will be held on Aug. 27 beginning at 8 pm at Spoke Life Cycles, 6363 Monroe St. The cost is $20 per person and includes the ride and the after party. Proceeds benefit Safe Kids Greater Toledo and Red Bird Sylvania.

The carefully planned and fully supported ride route complete with police escort is designed to highlight parks, neighborhoods and their connections to each other.

Ottawa Lake, Mich.-based Brightz-ltd will again provide LED bike lights to the first 400 registered riders, which creates a colorful spectacle along the route. Past participants report their excitement about being part of something bigger than themselves as hundreds of lighted bicycles circle Olander Lake. This year’s ticket holders will also have the opportunity to qualify for additional Brightz-ltd bicycle novelty items.

Riders complete the evening at the after party beginning at 10 pm to midnight in downtown Sylvania in the “party” lot adjacent to Inside the Five for snacks, cold drinks and craft beer.

To be guaranteed a Ridin’ Late Tee shirt, register at redbirdsylvania.org by Aug. 5.
