For the Love of Art expands; art classes for adults, children resume

After he “retired” last September, from For the Love of Art, Bob Schira spent several months visiting his grandchildren in Georgia and having the time to paint. “This is what I have been doing all of my life,” he stated.

But when the opportunity presented itself to acquire the entire building at 4027 Holland Sylvania Rd. Schira was ready to come back. He had purchased two-thirds of the building for his art business in 2005 and had wanted to own the entire building for some time. “This additional space opens up three classrooms for us and there are art teachers looking for a place to teach. Local music producer wins a Grammy

Jameil Aossey, raised in the Sylvania area, won the award for “Best Dance/Electronic Music Album” at the Grammys on Feb. 5 for his work on Beyoncé’s new album “Renaissance”. Aossey and his partner, S1, produced two tracks on the album: “I’m That Girl” and “All Up In Your Mind.” This award gave Beyoncé the most Grammy victories of all time with 32 wins. Forté Music School hits high note

Thanks to the universal language of music, Virgil Lupu, an accomplished violinist, and world-traveled musician, calls northwest Ohio home. Born in Romania in a family of musicians where music was part of everyday life, Lupu started learning music at the age of 5 in a music-focused kindergarten. He began playing the violin at the age of 7. Many dedicated hours of practicing the violin followed and, at the age of 15, he started traveling the world playing music on major stages and sharing his love for music. Crescent residents find fun, friendships, festivities

Create and Just Think relocate

Create partners Deborah Lambdin and Kerry Wellstein have leased the first floor at 5723 N. Main St. in the Sylvania Historical Village, relocating their Sylvania studio from 5441 Main St. The partners opened their location in Sylvania early last year as their original Perrysburg location, founded 10 years ago, continues to expand and grow.
