Sylvania Area Family Services
Larry Golba, a local artist, will be exhibiting his work at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 7800 Erie St. from Nov. 5-20. An opening reception will be held on Nov. 5 and 6 from 12:30-4:30 pm. Sixty percent of all sales will be donated to Sylvania Area Family Services. “An artist can find beautiful things in just about every scene–you just have to go out there and experience it,” Golba stated. His watercolors and oils often feature local scenes from the Metroparks, Sylvania street scenes, and Lakeside, Ohio. To view and purchase work after the opening reception, make an appointment by calling the church office, 419-885-1551. Examples of Golba’s work can be found at larrysgolba.com.
Ukraine
St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 7800 Erie St., will host a spaghetti luncheon on Nov. 13 from 12:15-1:30 pm. There is no cost for the lunch but a free will offering will be gathered to support the work of Lutheran World Relief in Ukraine. LWR is currently working to care for Ukrainians who fled their homes by sending medical teams to areas where there is a critical shortage of healthcare, delivering medical supplies and equipment, providing emergency assistance and cash for Ukrainian refugees in Poland and providing sexual exploitation and abuse prevention services.

They are also distributing LWR quilts and care kits, and supporting the Evangelical-Augsburg Church of St. Martin in Krakow, Poland, which has a hostel for women and children fleeing the war.
Take out meals will be available for this fundraiser.
