University of Toledo School of Pharmacy graduate Abe El Khatib has realized his dream of business ownership.

From early in his childhood, Abe El Khatib, PharmD, RPh, has wanted to help people. He also wanted to follow in his entrepreneurial family’s footsteps and be in business for himself. He found the best route to accomplish his goals was to leave his native Lebanon moving to northwest Ohio to join his brother in his pharmacy and learn the business. He also learned about his new adopted country and community. While working he attended the University of Toledo, graduating from the School of Pharmacy.

In just 10 years, El Khatib has been able to fulfill his dream. Last May, he opened Sylvania Family Pharmacy at 2114 North Holland-Sylvania Rd. “The plaza owner has been most cooperative and easy to work with. He allowed us to design the space to meet our needs,” El Khatib reported.

“Patients feel welcome here and know we are on hand to answer any questions they might have. They are also able to find an assortment of supplements and can feel free to talk with me about each,” he said. “My staff and I have a large work area where we fill prescriptions, package medications and more. It works really well.”

In addition to filling prescriptions, El Khatib and his team help patients manage their medications with one-on-one talks. “We offer a multi-dose packaging that bundles your medications together by date and time, allowing our patients to know exactly what meds to take and when. We do this as a free service to help our patients,” El Khatib offered. “We also help our patients with diabetes understand and manage their disease with specialized monitoring, medications, and recommendations.”

In addition, patients can find medical equipment; receive vaccines and buy LEADER™ products at a lower cost. “Best of all, we offer free delivery service throughout the area,” El Khatib said. “Our motto is ‘Fast, Reliable, Stress-Free Service,’ and this is what we do every day. We strive to put our patients first and make sure they are happy with our genuine service. We want to build trust with our patients and build connections with them as they become part of our family.”

Hours are Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 6 pm and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.
