The Olander Park System is now Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks, which better reflects the organization’s mission, helps clarify misconceptions about the number of parks the organization runs, and encourages the community to visit all five parks in the system. This was the inspiration behind the new name and logo that was just revealed for The Olander Park System’s rebrand campaign.
Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks is a Sylvania-wide Park system consisting of five parks – Olander, Fossil, Sylvan Prairie, Whetstone, and Southview Oak Savanna. After brand studies showed many thought the organization was only associated with Olander Park, the year-long journey to alter those perceptions began.
“We are beyond delighted at the acceptance and excitement of our stakeholders and partners during the unveiling of the new brand identity,” said Erika Buri, executive director of Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks. “As our community presence has evolved, so has our community impact and values, and it was time to convey this growth. The rebrand has been a year-long process and we hope it helps distinguish our parks from the other park systems, as well as promotes our community-focused family-oriented atmosphere.” Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks offers something for nearly everyone, from bike trails and boat rentals to swimming at the beach or digging for fossils. There are also three facilities for event rentals and multiple volunteer opportunities for the community to get involved.
Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks is hosting a social media photo contest to encourage people to explore more of the parks. To enter snap and share a photo and tag Olander Sylvania Community Parks. Weekly winners will be announced.
