The 2023 Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23 in downtown Toledo. The race is Susan G. Komen’s annual fundraising event where family and friends celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor those who have passed away from the disease.
The race raises critical funds that support research and services for breast cancer patients, including navigation services. Breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic disease can enjoy food, gifts, and visit other survivors in Hope Village. The race site and activities open at 7am. The program starts at 9 am with the Survivor Parade taking place shortly after.
WTOL lead anchors Melissa Andrews and Jeff Smith along with Honorary Race Chair Chrys Peterson will serve as emcees of the 2023 Race for the Cure. Sponsors for the event include Bank of America and Walgreens. Walk participants will include breast cancer survivors, metastatic breast cancer thrivers, co-survivors and supporters of Susan G. Komen.
Those wishing to participate can register at komen.org/nwohiorace. Contact Cristobal Martinez at cmartinez@komen.org for more information on the event.
