Dr. Cody Estrel has joined the practice of Dr. Mickey Frame and his son Dr. Zachary Frame, a friend since high school. The Northview graduate who was the hockey team captain of the 2014 record-setting, seven-overtime, state champions, Estrel returned to practice chiropractic in Sylvania and joined Frame Chiropractic & Acupuncture on Oct. 1.
“I am honored to be part of this practice. I am fortunate to be working with Dr. Mickey Frame who is so knowledgeable and experienced. He is well-known and respected in the community and by his patients. And, it is great to be working with Zac, someone I have known for a long time. This is an amazing office with a great staff who are most welcoming and friendly,” he offered.
Estrel, who received a BS degree in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo, graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, Port Orange, Fla. “I always knew I wanted to work in the health field and help people,” he said. “My mother worked in a chiropractic office so our family was very aware of the benefits from this discipline. As an athlete, I realized those benefits first-hand and I found the natural healing approach used in chiropractic to be what I wanted to pursue,” he noted.
Currently, Estrel works with patients of all ages including a number of athletes. “I really like helping people to feel better and enjoy life.” Estrel’s near-term goal is to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and he plans to pursue becoming licensed in acupuncture.
Dr. Zachary Frame, also a Northview and University of Toledo graduate, joined his father in March 2023 after graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. “I always thought I would follow in my dad’s footsteps. I grew up coming to my dad’s office and I loved everything about it, including all of the cool tools he has. I really liked how he has always been able to help people and that is just what I want to do as well,” Zac Frame reflected.
During his first trimester in Chiropractic school, Zachary was introduced to the idea and intrigued with treating animals using chiropractic methods. He was able to complete studies in Dallas, Texas to become certified in animal chiropractic while completing his program at Palmer. He also completed the requirements for sports and acupuncture certification.
“It is so rewarding to see what we can do with our hands and our knowledge to help people get back to their normal lives and do what they enjoy doing,” he said. “I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with my dad, learn from him, and share new ideas with him. It’s also a pleasure to work with Cody. The three of us have a great relationship, as we do with everyone in the office. We are really a family here,” he pointed out.
In addition to the hands-on chiropractic approach providing relief for dysfunctions of the neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems, the practice offers the newest highly researched equipment. The high-tech equipment includes such items as the radial pressure wave, which helps with tendonitis and plantar fasciitis, and a Spinal Decompression System specifically used to help with bulging disc relief and sciatica, to name a few.
Dr. Mickey Frame has been in practice in northwest Ohio since 1988, relocating to the present office at 4417 N. Holland Sylvania Rd., Suite 301 A. Since the practice first opened, a holistic approach has been offered for treating various spinal-related disorders and joint conditions and relief from dysfunction, and nervous system.
Today, in addition to chiropractic treatment rooms, there are two massage therapy rooms and other spaces for acupuncture treatments. Animals are treated at the Holland Sylvania Road location as well by Dr. Zac Frame. The Drs. Frame and Estrel also provide pre- and post-game treatments to team members of the Mud Hens and the Walleye.
Six years ago, Dr. Mickey Frame was asked to join the BG Falcon Health Primary Care team, which includes internal medicine and physical therapy. Drs. Zac Frame and Cody Estrel each spend two and a half days maintaining the BG office, where they provide chiropractic and acupuncture services to patients. They also work with the BGSU men’s and women’s basketball teams.
