Members of Sylvania City Council approved Service Director Joe Shaw’s recommendation to accept the $11,000 proposal submitted by Dixon Engineering, Inc. They will provide engineering services for necessary improvements to the city’s three water storage tanks.
City council members passed a resoultion in support of the 10-year, 1.4 mill replacement levy for the Metropolitan Park District.
City Council members agreed to hold a public meeting on June 2 regarding the zoning change for 5834 Monroe St., Suite M-N from B-4 Shopping Center District to B-4 with Special Use for Crossview Community Church. The city’s Planning Commission recommended the change at an earlier meeting.
Sylvania Police Chief Danilynn Miller gave a brief update on the concerns over the “Senior Assassin” game that has been played by Southview and Northview high school senior students. Chief Miller along with Sylvania Township Police Chief Sarah Toth issued a zero tolerance policy on this type of activity.
Administration Building to be named for former Mayor Craig A. Stough
Mayor Mark Frye announced that there will be a ceremony on Monday, May 5, at 6:30 pm naming the city’s administration building after the city’s previous Mayor, Craig A. Stough. The new signage will be unveiled and lighted.
The next Sylvania City Council meeting is May 5 at 7:30 pm.
