The 15th annual Maple & Main Art & Music Festival returns to Olander Park on May 30-31. More than 80 visual artists will display their work in booths during the juried art festival. Featured media includes photography, painting, jewelry, fiber, glass, ceramics, wood and more. Award winning artists from Ohio and Michigan and from many other states will participate in the festival.
“Art has a unique way of connecting people and shaping the spirit of a community, and we’re thrilled to carry on that tradition through our festival each year,” said Ken Dymond, executive director of Sylvania Arts.
Artist booths will be lined up and down the trails at Olander Park, a stage for musical performances will be located near the beach, and beer and wine will be available to enjoy throughout the festival grounds. A food court featuring 10 local street food vendors, and a children’s art activity area will again be near the playground. Musical acts include local talent representing genres from rock and bluegrass to jazz, folk and polka. Buskers will perform at pop-up locations around the festival.
Arctic Clam will be the musical headliner on Saturday night. The festival will close on Sunday afternoon with Polka Floyd. Admission to the festival is free and open to the public and parking is available at the adjacent Tam-O-Shanter.
