Healthy Family Chiropractic

Dr. Jessica Lockhart has relocated her practice, Healthy Family Chiropractic, to 5525 Harroun Rd. and was open for appointments on Nov. 2.
“I love the location and the easy, convenient parking,” she said. “This has a very homey feeling and the space with all of the windows is perfect. In addition to my office, there is a room for Heather Savage, LMT, of Knotty by Nature who was also at the former location. And, there is an additional room that Nikki Gallagher, LMT, of Nikki’s Massage & Bodywork LLC is occupying.”
Since beginning her practice in 2018, Lockhart has been certified in pediatrics to expand her services to include treating children.
“I offer wellness care along with pain relief for the entire family. When your body is in proper alignment, the body has the ability to heal itself. Also, being in proper alignment reduces the chances of injury. I am certified in the Webster Technique, allowing me to work with pregnant women and babies. I found out first hand when I was pregnant, the importance of proper alignment of the spine and pelvis to be in the right position to allow the baby to grow and flourish. I had adjustments on a regular basis even during labor,” she remembered.
“After my experience, I recommend moms have an adjustment once a month until close to delivery when more frequent adjustments are helpful. Overall, you can maintain a healthier pregnancy, control symptoms of nausea, reduce labor and delivery time, relieve back, neck, or joint pain and prevent a potential Cesarean section,” Lockhart said.
She continued, “Birth is a trauma for babies and 95 percent of infants experience misalignment at birth. This can lead to problems sleeping and nursing, earaches, and more. A simple touch can help that misalignment.”
Patients may also choose from the selection of all-natural Standard Process supplements that are available.
It is no surprise that Rudy, Lockhart’s dog and constant companion, is a regular in the Healthy Family chiropractic office. Lockhart was fully committed to attend veterinarian school at Michigan State University when she suffered horrible back pain. “Three visits to a chiropractor and my pain was gone,” Lockhart stated. “I realized that I wanted to help people feel better like I did. This was what I wanted to do so instead of vet school so I enrolled in the Palmer College of Chiropractic.
After working with a Cleveland practice for three years, she and her husband returned to northwest Ohio to be closer to their families. “When our first child was born, we decided to move back here. I also had decided to realize my ultimate goal to open my own practice,” she said. She first achieved this goal four years ago and has not looked back.
Appointment hours are Monday, 7 am to 1 pm and 3 to 6 pm; Wednesday, 10 am to 1 pm and 3 to 7 pm; Thursday, 1 to 5 pm; and Friday, 7 am to 1 pm. The office is closed on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
Mike Buck State Farm Agency

Mike Buck and his team have relocated their State Farm Insurance agency to 5525 Harroun Rd., sharing the former Hedges Chiropractic Clinic with Dr. Jessica Lockhart, DC, CACCP of Healthy Family Chiropractic.
According to Buck, when Dr. Keith Hedges, DC, was planning to retire, he talked with his friend Buck about the space. He also made contact with Lockhart whose lease was about to expire.“The fact that I could share the space with Jessica was ideal. I have been looking for a new location for some time and this works out perfectly,” Buck said.
Lockhart’s dog, Rudy, shares his time between the two offices and enjoys the pull toys and treats he finds near Buck’s desk.
“My team and I really enjoy having Rudy in the office and we like Jessica, Heather, and Nikki, too,” Buck offered. “We also really like this space. We like the windows and the convenient parking right in front of the building and the easy access to this location. But best of all is the fact that I can park my fire truck here. And people seem to be quite excited to see it here.”
Buck’s ownership of a working fire truck is no surprise considering he served two tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan in the military and an additional two years in each country as a fire service private contractor.
After returning home it was during his time in the school of business at Lourdes University that he realized his entrepreneurial spirit and found his career path. Upon graduation, he joined the State Farm team and opened his office in 2014.
In addition to taking care of clients with their auto, life, and homeowners insurance needs, Buck has been active in the Lourdes Alumni Association and other local groups. He has also hosted drives for needy children, filling his fire truck with school supplies.
