At the May 15 Sylvania City Council meeting Safety Director Kevin Aller reported that the city will be saving $22,468.14 on the Maplewood Avenue Reconstruction project. His request that council approve an ordinance relating to the change order to decrease the contract by that amount was approved.
In addition, Aller requested council to approve an ordinance to accept the proposal of Feller Finch & Associates for $29,000 to provide engineering services for a neighborhood street resurfacing project. According to the Safety Director, every two years the pavement condition of every neighborhood street is evaluated. Streets slated for work are Bentbrook, Burgess, Silvertown, and Lynnhaven.
