Downtown project review
At the Sept. 18 Sylvania City Council meeting Service Director Kevin Aller’s request for a Committee of the Whole meeting to review findings on the Downtown Transportation Improvements Project was approved. The meeting will be held Oct. 2 before the regular city council meeting.
Police request
City council also approved Police Chief Danilynn Miller’s request to donate outdated accident investigation equipment to the Maumee Police Department.
JEDD review
Bill Sanford gave a brief update on the current JEDD (Joint Economic Development District) Program with Sylvania Township. Sylvania City and Township are currently participating in one JEDD with Oak Leaf Village located in the township. Income taxes are being collected from this organization and are divided between the City and Township. Four other sites in the Sylvania area are being considered for possible JEDDs within the next five years.
