Peeps sweets to make with your kids for Easter

It’s always an enjoyable day when I get to hang out with my Peeps. These bright yellow, chick-shaped marshmallow confections have been produced in the United States and Canada since 1953 – the bunnies were added 20 years later while other colors were introduced in the nineties. Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, one thing is for sure, Peeps do make for a vibrant Easter display and are fun to incorporate into holiday décor or other treats. Try them snuggled into Crispy Birds’ Nests or as the center for Easter S’mores. Both recipes are quick and easy to prepare and are fun to make with the kids. Happy Easter!

Crispy Birds’ Nests
8 servings
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups mini marshmallows
3 cups chow mein noodles
32 chocolate eggs
8 chick-shaped Peeps
Non-stick spray

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir until they are melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and quickly stir in the chow mein noodles, stirring until completely coated.

Coat hands in non-stick spray and shape the mixture into 8 small nests. Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Before the nests harden completely, place one Peep on top of each nest and add three or four candy eggs.

Easter S’mores

8 multi-colored Peeps
