Calling all foodies … Sylvania’s long-standing farmers market tradition continues this summer. The market is open Tuesday evenings from 5 to 8 pm on the grounds of Olander Park, 6930 Sylvania Ave. The weekly event, managed for a second year by Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks, will run through September 10. “We are super excited about the market and are looking forward to having the public back at the park,” said John Page, the organization’s marketing and events manager.
Each week the market will feature a variety of farm fresh produce; locally made food products such as jams, honey and sauces; baked goods including breads and sweets; artists and crafters with handmade soaps, jewelry and candles; snacks and drink items including popcorn, cotton candy and coffee; plus a diverse group of food trucks.

“We have a fabulous lineup of vendors this season which will vary from week to week,” said Page.
While at the market, visitors can experience live music; a family fun area provided by Amazing Athletes educational sports programs; theme weeks; and park amenities including playgrounds, pavilions for picnicking, restrooms, walking paths, and boat rentals.

The market will take place on the west side of Olander Park. Admission is free for both Sylvania residents and non-residents as well as visitors from surrounding communities. Convenient parking is available next door at Tam-O-Shanter, and market volunteers in golf carts will transport shoppers back to their cars if needed.Market favorites returning for the 2024 season include Scharf Farm, Doodle Bean Coffee, Olde Tyme Kettle Korn, Dee’s Bee’s Honey, Kabob It At Home, Dreaming of Pearls, Beez Nuts, and Wanderdust Coffee.

A plethora of food trucks will participate throughout the season with four to six onsite each week. Look for Falafel King, Smashdawgz, Trip‘n Biscuits, Susie Lynn’s Lemonade, Detroit Mini Donut, Toledo Chuck Wagon, Deet’s BBQ, Koral Hamburg, and Lyle’s Crepes.
