Autumn has arrived in all its glory at Hafner Florist, 5139 Main St. in Sylvania. Guests are invited to savor the essence of the season during the floral and gift shop’s Taste of Autumn open house on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 5 to 8 pm.
The open house will include all the inspiration needed to fill your home with the warm glow of autumn. Guests will have the opportunity to take advantage of exclusive event-only specials, enter a drawing for prizes, receive a special gift with a $50 purchase (while supplies last), enjoy refreshments, and take part in a tasting session of the shop’s new line of Finch + Fennel culinary goods.

“The Chilewich collection is created from super durable outdoor fabric, plus they’re made in the states,” Miller emphasized. “We also have a huge display of our three tried and true candle and accessory companies – Illume®, Voluspa® and Thymes along with Thyme’s popular Simmered Cider scent.”
“We are so excited to show everyone what we have during the event. It’s our kickoff to the holiday season, and the grand finale is our Christmas open house,” said Miller. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Sylvania Area Family Services, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides support services to strengthen families in the greater community.
In addition to Hafner’s retail offerings, the team creates custom

arrangements and décor for any type of function or event. “Whether a client needs one centerpiece or decorations for a big holiday party, our team strives to create something memorable,” explained Miller. Additionally, Hafner offers a nearby event space that can be rented for parties of 25 to 30 guests.
Hafner Florist is located in Sylvania’s Southbriar Plaza. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm.
“During our open house, we want to create awareness around all the new and unique items we are carrying – you won’t find these elsewhere in the area,” said Josh Miller, one of three owners of Hafner Florist with Kyle Vierling and Kate Sterns. “We want to showcase our expanded retail shop and the array of fabulous new lines we offer,” Miller explained.
One such line is a must for foodies to experience, Finch + Fennel. The curated collection of one-of-a-kind gourmet food features an assortment of seasonings and rubs; sauces and starters; and jams and jellies such as Walnut Cranberry Relish, Truffle Parmesan and Black Garlic Seasoning, Cherry Balsamic Preserves, and Pumpkin Honey Butter. “Finch + Fennel products make the perfect gift for those who love to cook and entertain, and they are making their debut here just in time for the holiday season. We want you to be the best host or show up with the best host or hostess gift,” said Miller.
Other exciting new additions to the shop include Roomytown wall art featuring replica prints dating back to the 1600s and Chilewich rug and tabletop items woven in Atlanta and based out of New York.
