As the holidays approach, Hafner Florist invites you to step inside the magic of the season. On Saturday, Nov. 23, owners Josh Miller and Kyle Vierling are throwing their biggest party yet with a festive open house from 3 to 8 pm. The annual event will feature beautifully trimmed trees, unique gift items for everyone on your list, seasonal treats, a drawing for a Thanksgiving centerpiece, and a gift with a $50 purchase, while supplies last. “This year we want to inspire you to decorate your home or business in a way you haven’t considered. We hope to do that by introducing new styles and color palettes from which to choose,” said Miller.
During the open house, customers will find inspiration from the decorated themed trees. Each tree brings its own holiday charm, ranging in styles from traditional and vintage; muted and earthy; snowy white; black and white; and bright and whimsical. “Our business continues to evolve and change,” Miller noted. “There’s going to be something for everyone from casual to refined looks.” Adding to the fun will be hors d’oeuvres, drinks and desserts by Rosie’s Italian and Premium Pour.
Gift-giving ideas abound at Hafner this season. “We have more holiday candle scents than ever as well as novelty candles, taper candles and an assortment of holders,” Miller mentioned. Holiday edition culinary goods are in stock and ready to be arranged in gift baskets along with fun entertaining accessories such as chunky woven trivets and serving pieces. Silk flower arrangements, rug and tabletop items, pottery pieces, and ceramics also make fabulous gifts. “We’re always adding new and seasonal styles to all the collections we offer,” mentioned Miller.

“Our holiday plant selection includes everything from Cyprus trees to specialty amaryllis varieties and cyclamen, perfect for adding a touch of warmth,” said Vierling. “It’s all about texture this year from sleek stems of holly berries to plush velvet ribbon. We feel we’ve created this harmony between the flower shop and flower boutique with the same look and experience – all the senses now align,” he added.
The open house festivities continue with a 10 percent discount for those who prebook and pay for Thanksgiving and Christmas centerpieces that day. Customers may also set up appointments for seasonal decorating consultations. A portion of the proceeds from sales during the open house will benefit Sylvania Area Family Services, Inc.
In addition to Hafner’s retail offerings, the design team creates custom arrangements and décor for any type of function or event. “Whether a client needs one centerpiece or decorations for a big holiday party, our team strives to create something memorable,” explained Miller. Additionally, Hafner offers a nearby event space that can be rented for parties of 25 to 30 guests.

Hafner Florist is located at 5139 Main Street in Sylvania’s Southbriar Plaza. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.
Vierling encourages the public to “Join us for an evening of holiday cheer, where you can find inspiration, connect with others, and bring home a piece of the magic.”
