The first days of December bring thoughts of the upcoming holiday season, which, in downtown Sylvania, is ushered in with Miracle on Main presented by Red Bird Sylvania and Yark Automotive. This year the annual family-friendly event begins on Friday, Dec. 6 with the First Friday Art Walk, complete with holiday and seasonal shopping specials from 5 to 8 pm.
At 6 pm, Sylvania Mayor Craig Stough and a “special guest” will select a child or children from the audience to help light the Christmas tree in the Maplewood corner park. That “special guest,” better known as Santa Claus, will then make his way across Main Street to the Cooke-Kuhlman House in Heritage Sylvania where he will meet with children from 6:15 to 8 pm.
Entertainment will continue in the corner park. Hillview Elementary students will perform at 6:15 pm, followed by Northview’s Harmony Road Show at 6:40 pm, Southview’s Tri-M Music Honor Society at 7:05 pm, and Southview’s Varsity Singers at 7:30 pm.
