Gather in the glow of the season at Hafner Florist’s holiday open house on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 3 to 7 pm. Known for its award-winning floral designs, Hafner Florist is quickly becoming the area’s premier destination to find holiday decorating inspiration, entertaining provisions, and unique, high-quality presents for everyone on your list. “Our open house has truly grown from ‘a place to shop for gifts’ to an annual community gathering that customers look forward to,” said co-owner Josh Miller.
The event is Miller’s and co-owner, Kyle Vierling’s, way of thanking their loyal customers for supporting their business throughout the year. “We want everyone to come out, bring friends, and enjoy themselves,” said Miller. The open house is also a vehicle for Hafner to give back to a vital community organization, Sylvania Area Family Services, Inc., with a portion of the proceeds from sales that evening being donated to the non-profit. “It’s all about providing awareness for an outstanding service in our community. The event helps us provide that much more food for those in need, especially at Thanksgiving,” he explained.
From beautifully decorated themed trees to seasonal treats, guests will enjoy mingling throughout the festive atmosphere while experiencing what’s new in holiday design. Guests will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a Thanksgiving centerpiece and enjoy a gift with a $50 purchase, while supplies last. Adding to the holiday fun will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres, drinks and desserts.

Voluspa Candles can only be found at Hafner Florist.

“People know us for our great gifts for hostesses, family and friends; however our selection of home décor continues to elevate every year,” Miller offered. “Our collections are expanding with new products being added all the time. For example, our Voluspa® candle line now features a selection of perfume. And we’ve expanded our Finch + Fennel culinary goods pantry with even more seasonings, jams, charcuterie boards and hosting accessories,” he added.
More gift giving opportunities abound including the tried and true Thymes® Frasier Fir line of candles, soaps and lotions; novelty candles, taper candles and an assortment of holders; silk flower arrangements; rugs and tabletop items; Bergs Potter pieces; ceramics by local artist Lia Colapietro; and a holiday plant selection including everything from Cyprus trees to specialty amaryllis varieties and cyclamen.
In addition to retail offerings, Hafner Florist is first and foremost a flower shop, encompassing a design team that creates custom arrangements and décor for any type of function or event. “Whether a client needs one centerpiece or decorations for a big holiday party, our team strives to create something memorable,” explained Miller.
The holiday magic continues all season at Hafner Florist, located in Sylvania’s Southbriar Plaza. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm.
