For more than a decade, two neighborhood pizza stores in Toledo have become something much bigger than places to grab dinner. They’ve become symbols of entrepreneurship, teamwork, and community service.
Just over 10 years ago, a group of local entrepreneurs purchased two struggling Jet’s Pizza locations in Toledo with one goal in mind: restore them to the level of excellence the brand was built upon.
“It’s a bird… it’s a plane… it’s the Jet Man!” has become a fitting way to describe the passion and energy behind the operation.
“Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart,” says CEO Jason Povlich. “The amount of time, love, sacrifice, and financial investment required to build a successful business is tremendous. But when you have a purpose, every challenge is worth it.”
For the Toledo ownership group, that purpose has always been simple: serve great pizza while investing in people.
Led by Jason Povlich, Patrick Povlich, Brighton Woods, Nick Knzevich, Jeremy Sternburg, Seth Garcia, Taylor Ammons, and many dedicated team members, the organization has built a culture centered on unity and a shared mission:
Great food. Great service. Be a positive impact on the team. Be a positive impact on the community.
That mission extends far beyond the kitchen.
Over the years, the Toledo Jet’s Pizza team has partnered with local organizations to help feed the homeless, sponsor schools, and support humanitarian efforts, including helping rescue children from darkness in Haiti.
For the team, it’s more than pizza, it’s pizza with purpose.
The Jet’s Pizza story began in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where brothers Eugene and John Jetts founded the company. Still privately owned and operated by the Jetts family today, the company has created opportunities for thousands of entrepreneurs and employees across the United States.
Now operating in more than 20 states, Jet’s Pizza continues to grow while remaining best known for its famous Detroit-style pizza, signature Corner Crunch crust, cheesy breads, wings, fresh salads, Jet Boats, and Coca-Cola products.
“We don’t want to be just another pizzeria in Toledo,” Povlich says. “We want to be a place where families can enjoy great food at a great price. We also want to be a place where people can build careers, earn good money, and grow both personally and professionally.”
The team invites the community to stop in, meet Nick, Jeremy, Seth, or Taylor, and experience what makes Toledo’s Jet’s Pizza locations special. As a thank-you to new guests, mention this article and receive a complimentary Small 4 Corner Pizza (offer subject to store participation and availability).
Visit Jet’s Pizza Toledo, Monroe Street Location, 5392 Monroe St. or the Glendale Avenue Location, 4733 Glendale Ave., Toledo/Maumeo area).
Whether you’re stopping in for the famous Detroit-style pizza or looking for a career with a purpose, the Toledo Jet’s Pizza team is committed to serving both great food and a stronger community—one pizza at a time.
