Ribbon cut to open Sassy Stork Ultrasound Studio in Ottawa Lake

Roz Carpenter and Sylvania Town Crier Mike Lieber along with Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce Welcoming Committee members Mark McPherson, Todd Woodard, Brandon Parran, Wayne Turner, Bud Crosby, Bob Forcht, and Jim Heller join Jamie Meinert, Megan Iott, Pam Meinert, Amanda Andrews, Ashley, Teagan and Tanner Iott, and Trisha Ziem to cut the ribbon to open Sassy Stork Ultrasound Studio.

Expectant families now have a new place to celebrate one of life’s most exciting milestones with the opening of Sassy Stork Ultrasound Studio in Ottawa Lake, Michigan.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held June 26 to celebrate the new business at 6399 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd. Owned by registered diagnostic medical sonographer Megan Lott, the studio specializes in elective prenatal ultrasound experiences designed to help families connect with their babies in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

“I’ve always had a passion for obstetrical ultrasound and helping families during one of the most exciting times in their lives,” Lott said.”After spending years caring for expectant parents, I wanted to create a space where families could slow down, relax and truly enjoy seeing their baby without the time constraints of a medical appointment. Sassy Stork was created to give parents and their loved ones an unforgettable bonding experience in a welcoming, spa-like environment.”

For Lott, the most rewarding part of her work is sharing in some of life’s biggest moments.

“What I love most is being able to witness some of life’s biggest milestones,” she said. “Whether it’s seeing a baby’s heartbeat for the first time, finding out if it’s a boy or girl, or watching parents, siblings and grandparents fall in love with a baby’s face before they’re even born, those are moments that never get old. Knowing I get to be a small part of those memories is incredibly rewarding.”

Before opening Sassy Stork, Iott spent several years working in an OB/GYN practice before joining My Little Me, where she continued helping expectant families celebrate their pregnancies. Those experiences inspired her to create a studio that combines professional expertise with a personalized, family-centered atmosphere.

Among the studio’s most popular offerings is AI-enhanced 8K imaging, which transforms 3D and 4D ultrasound images into realistic renderings of what a baby’s facial features may look like after birth. The technology enhances ultrasound images with lifelike skin tones and facial details, providing families with a unique keepsake.

Although the images are intended for entertainment rather than medical prediction, Iott said many families enjoy comparing their baby’s 8K image with newborn photographs after delivery. She recommends scheduling the service after 27 weeks of pregnancy, when babies have typically developed fuller facial features that produce the most detailed images.

Sassy Stork also offers elective 2D, 3D/4D and HD Live ultrasound packages, early gender determination, SneakPeek DNA gender testing beginning at six weeks, keepsake recordings and AI-enhanced 8K image enhancements. A boutique featuring gifts and keepsakes for growing families is also part of the studio.

“Sassy Stork is built on experience, compassion and a genuine love for what I do,” Iott said. “As both the owner and sonographer, I personally perform every scan and treat every family as if they were my own. Every appointment is an opportunity to create a lasting memory, and it’s an honor to share those once-in-a-lifetime moments with each family that walks through our doors.”

Looking ahead, Iott hopes to continue expanding the business while strengthening its ties to the community.
“Our goal is to continue growing within the community and become the trusted destination for elective ultrasounds in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan,” she said. “I’m excited to build relationships with more local businesses, continue giving back through community events and collaborations, and help even more families create memories they’ll treasure for years to come.”
