Celebrate October Harvest Fest at the Toledo Zoo

Fall into fun all October long at Toledo Zoo’s Harvest Fest! Included with general admission, this month-long fall extravaganza is taking place from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 and will offer a delightful blend of seasonal festivities.


Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant colors of autumn as they explore the Zoo. The event operates throughout the week, with admission being from 10 am to 4 pm on Mondays to Wednesdays, as well as Saturdays and Sundays, with the Zoo closing gates at 5 pm. On Thursdays and Fridays, the Zoo will extend its hours, staying open until 8 pm, closing gates at 9 pm. Visitors will have ample opportunities to engage in the festivities, enjoying both daytime and evening experiences.


This year, visitors will be captivated by even more giant pumpkin displays scattered throughout the Zoo, offering fantastic photo opportunities. These displays, adorned with pumpkin animal creations, topiaries, pumpkin houses, and other fall flora, contribute to the festive ambiance. The Zoo transforms into a scenic fall wonderland, inviting guests to fully immerse themselves in the autumn spirit.


In addition to the delightful displays, there are special event opportunities, including adult-focused events, trick-or-treating events, and more.
The special events schedule is as follows:
• Oct. 5 – U at the Zoo College Night
• Oct. 6 – Buckeye Broadband ZOOtoberfest
• Oct. 12 -Fall Fur All Family Night
• Oct. 19 and 20 – Little Boo presented by Meijer
• Oct. 21 and 22 – Pumpkin Path presented by Ohio Council Of Community Schools
• Oct. 27 – Roar and Pour
• Oct. 28 – Pumpkin Stomp and Chomp


Specialty-themed, hands-on horticulture workshops will also be available for deeper exploration of fall flora. Weekends at Toledo Zoo’s Harvest Fest are a special treat. Visitors can enjoy musical entertainment, character meet and greets, games, bounce houses, and fall activities—all of which are included with Zoo admission. For animal enthusiasts, there’s a fall animal demonstration schedule that offers an up-close adventure with the animals. Additionally, weekend pumpkin carving demonstrations and free pumpkin carving classes on select Sundays will be offered.
For culinary enthusiasts, there are special concession options featuring fall-themed food and beverages, allowing visitors to sip and savor the flavors of the season.
Harvest Fest will have an extra layer of excitement with adorable animal additions. The latest arrivals include Franklin, the Giraffe calf, and twin Amur tiger cubs.
