Representing the Sylvania Township Board of Trustees, Chair Jill Johnson, left, Fire Chief Chris Nye, and Administrator Oliver Turner pay tribute and present an engraved glass award to retiring Superintendent of Sylvania Schools, Veronica Motley, D.Ed., second from left, at the June 29 Board of Education meeting.
In making the presentation, Johnson said: ‘As Chair of Sylvania Township Trustees, it is truly an honor to recognize Dr. Veronica Motley as she begins her well-earned retirement. Having had the privilege of serving with her on the Sylvania Board of Education, I can speak not only to her accomplishments but to the remarkable person she is. She is an exceptional leader—thoughtful, compassionate, and unwavering in her commitment to students, staff and our community. She leads with integrity, listens with respect, and approaches every challenge with grace and professionalism. Sylvania is stronger because of her leadership. More importantly, what I will always remember is the kindness, integrity, and respect she shows to everyone around her. On behalf of the Sylvania Township Trustees, it is my privilege to present this token of our appreciation and gratitude for your years of dedicated service. Congratulations on an extraordinary career. Thank you for all you have given to Sylvania.
