Sylvania Arts offers opportunities for artists to participate in local events

Artists can apply for booth space for Sylvania Arts’ annual Maple and Main Art and Music Festival to be held June 3 and 4.

Each year over 6,000 art and music enthusiasts fill downtown Sylvania to enjoy the Maple & Main Art and Music Festival. The heart of Sylvania is filled with artists’ booths, roaming musicians, a live music stage and food trucks from around the region. Sylvania Arts has new director

Ken Dymond has been named the new Sylvania Arts Executive Director. He assumed the position in mid October.

Dymond is no stranger to the organization. He has been a volunteer for the past eight years helping with Maple & Main; Shorties U, Film Festivals and more.“I thought I was very familiar with Sylvania Arts, but I am finding there is so much more now that I’m on this side of the desk,” he shared. “I am thrilled to be a part of Sylvania Arts and to work with the amazing volunteers we have and with the Sylvania community as well.” Continue reading Sylvania Arts has new director

Tree City Film Festival scheduled

Teams competing in the 10th annual Tree City Film Festival’s 50-hour Challenge will begin planning at the kickoff meeting on Sept. 16, when they receive a series of elements that must be incorporated into their film.
